Sultanas

Australian sultanas ripen on the vine in the Australian sun until they have reached the perfect level of ripeness in the Mediterranean climate of Mildura. The harvesting process begins in the cooler evening hours to preserve the fruit’s natural coloring and quality. Emphasis is placed on modern, environmentally friendly harvesting methods, as well as on preventing any kind of product contamination. For instance, the fruit does not come into contact with the soil during the entire harvesting process. The sophisticated machines ensure the sultanas are harvested quickly but gently. The fruit undergoes an initial quality check before loading. At the factory it is inspected again, cleaned, before being stored in refrigerated rooms. Sultanas of this premium quality are of interest to the baking industry as well as for use in chocolate products, cereals and cereal bars, and trail mixes.
