Premiere at Anuga 2017:

Bösch Boden Spies presents two new fruit ingredients for the food industry.

Bösch Boden Spies is presenting two innovations to its extensive range of natural fruit ingredients at Anuga in Cologne.

The Hamburg-based ingredients specialist Bösch Boden Spies is presenting two innovations to its extensive range of natural fruit ingredients at Anuga in Cologne (7-11 October): wild, dried blueberries from Canada and goldenberry juice concentrate from the Andes.

Dried wild blueberries from Canada

(Hall 10.2, Booth A080)

The dried fruits that Bösch Boden Spies is presenting for the first time at Anuga complements the ingredients expert’s range of wild blueberries from Canada, which already includes IQF blueberries, blueberry juice concentrate and blueberry puree. The supplier and brand partner Oxford Frozen Foods is the world’s largest producer of wild blueberries and is now one of the first producers to introduce a dried version. Wild blueberries contain less water than cultivated ones and, in their dried form, are roughly pea-sized. They are characterised by a complex, multifaceted flavour that is typical of wild fruit, with sweet and slightly savoury components. Rich in antioxidants and fibre, they also contain Vitamins C and A as well as potassium, phosphorus and magnesium. So food producers can use dried wild blueberries to enhance not only the flavour of their baked goods, chocolates, muesli bars, fruit-nut mixes and more – but also their functionality.

Goldenberry juice concentrate

(Hall 8.1, Booth B021)

There’s been an addition to the goldenberry product family as well. Besides dried and frozen fruits, Bösch Boden Spies and its brand partner Terrafertil now offer a goldenberry juice concentrate. The sweet-and-sour taste of the fruit lends a fine, fresh note to juices and spritzer, for example. The versatile concentrate is also suitable for dairy products, as a secondary fruit, or for fruit bars.

With its antioxidants and many fibres, minerals and vitamins, the low-calorie golden fruit is right in line with the trend to exotic superfruits and meets the desire of many consumers for a natural, healthy diet. The goldenberry juice concentrate as well as all other goldenberry ingredients from the world market leader Terrafertil are BRC- and HACCP-certified, kosher, and carry the Fairtrade mark.

Other product highlights

Bösch Boden Spies will present additional product highlights and examples of application from the field of dried fruits, nuts, and preserves in Hall 10.2 at Booth A080. Frozen fruits and fruit juice concentrates will be presented by the ingredients specialist in Hall 8.1 at Booth B021, together with its co-exhibitor and brand partner Terrafertil.

At both booths, trade visitors will be able to speak with experts from Bösch Boden Spies as well as representatives of numerous other brand partners, including specialists from Blue Diamond, Morning Star, Niagro, Ocean Spray, Sun-Maid, Sunsweet, and many other producers.
