Portrait

Hazelnut Growers of Oregon is a farmer-owned cooperative with over 200 farmer members and the second largest processor  of American hazelnuts. 99% of U.S. hazelnuts are grown in the Willamette Valley in the state of Oregon, which boasts an ideal climate for growing the world’s highest quality hazelnuts.

HGO, which was founded in 1983 is situated in the Willamette Valley and currently processes nearly 25% of Oregon’s hazelnut tonnage.

Annual crop size averaged about 38,000 tons over the last 5 years and is expected to more than double in the next five years, which will likely stage Oregon as the second largest supplier of hazelnuts in the world.

Consistent high-quality production and processing practices make Oregon a safe and exciting new origin for hazelnuts for European markets.

In its new state of the art processing facility, HGO uses on-site steam pasteurization and processes hazelnuts under rigorous safety and quality standards into different end products ready to be used in various food applications around the globe. Food Safety is important to HGO, they are SQF certified, Level 3.
