Supply chain delays , UPDATE June 2021

Once again, we would like to draw your attention to the current situation of worldwide sea freight transports. As our logistics partners report to us, the situation remains very tense and there is no visible relief so far.

While global demand is even increasing, capacities and available equipment remain scarce.

In addition to the resulting price increases, the time component is particularly critical for us: It remains challenging to ensure call-off shipments, as delayed departures and re-bookings continue to be the order of the day in the ports of origin, both in North and South America as well as in the Asia-Pacific region.

The European ports are now also affected by congestion, especially as a result of the Suez Canal blockade so that even here, we cannot rule out waiting times before unloading, delayed clearance and re-routing.

We therefore recommend that our customers plan their call-offs as early as possible and build up stocks to absorb delays. We will be happy to assist you with your planning – please get in touch with your respective contact person at BBS.
