Sultana Crop Update January 2026

The 2026 Sultana harvest promises very good quality with a significantly higher volume. New plantings, which are now coming into full yield, are expected to increase the total volume by around 10 % compared to the previous year. Late budding and a cooler spring ensured that the vines developed evenly, even though ripening is currently around 7-10 days behind the previous year.

The predominantly dry conditions favored healthy fruit development. Short periods of heat in January with temperatures above 40 °C led to slight sunburn and increased water requirements in individual varieties, but had no significant impact on the overall quality. Overall, the Sultanas 2026 are aromatic, visually appealing and ideally suited for high-quality applications.
