Our Brazilian partner Niagro, a company founded in 1992 by the Japanese Nichirei Corporation, specializes in acerola products. The former pioneer is now a world leader in the processing and marketing of the small acerola cherry. Niagro relies on strong ties with 200 local farmers around the city of Petrolina, in the fertile coastal plain of the state of Pernambuco, to source its raw materials.
Over the past two decades, Niagro has made the once largely unknown fruit known in Europe and North America and now sells acerola products to food manufacturers all over the world.
