The success story of Ocean Spray began in 1930 when three cranberry growers in Lakeville, Massachusetts, joined forces with a common goal: to open up new markets with innovative products. Since then, the cooperative has developed into one of the leading brands in the United States - for the 700 farming families, growing cranberries has been a matter close to their hearts for generations.
Ocean Spray cranberries are everywhere, whether under its own famous juice and dried fruit brand in North America or worldwide as innovative cranberry ingredients for the food and beverage industry distributed by Ocean Spray Ingredient Technology Group (ITG).
The cooperative is the leading international cranberry supplier for good reason. The pioneer now operates several state-of-the-art processing plants, employs more than 2,200 people worldwide and has a unique process for producing sweetened, dried cranberries, which is characterized by gentle processing and a long shelf life. This makes the dried fruit particularly competitive.
Thanks to a strong culture of innovation, the cooperative has succeeded in turning a virtually unknown niche product into one of the most sought-after products in the food industry. As a pioneer in strategic alliances and partnerships, Ocean Spray has retained its customers for many years and continues to acquire new ones.
