Ocean Spray’s success story began in 1930 when three cranberry growers in Lakeville, Massachusetts teamed up with a common goal: to open up new markets with innovative products. Since then, the cooperative has developed into one of the leading brands in the United States – for the 700 farming families, the cultivation of cranberries has been close to their heart for generations.

Ocean Spray cranberries are everywhere, whether under their own famous juice and dried-fruit brand in North America, or worldwide as innovative cranberry ingredients for the food and beverage industry, marketed by the Ocean Spray Ingredient Technology Group (ITG).

The cooperative is the leading international cranberry supplier for good reason. The pioneer now operates several state-of-the-art processing plants, employs more than 2,200 people worldwide, and has a unique process for producing sweetened, dried cranberries, which is characterized by careful processing and a long shelf life. This makes the dried fruits particularly competitive.

Thanks to a strong culture of innovation, the cooperative has succeeded in turning a virtually unknown niche product into one of the most sought-after products in the food industry. Ocean Spray retains its customers over many years, and keeps winning new ones, as a pioneer in strategic alliances and partnerships.

Im Jahr 2019 war Ocean Spray die erste landwirtschaftliche Genossenschaft, deren Früchte - Cranberries - von der FSA als nachhaltig angebaut zertifiziert wurden. Im Jahr 2022 wurden die Cranberries der Farmer erneut als nachhaltig angebaut zertifiziert, was das kontinuierliche Engagement der Ocean Spray Cooperative für ihre Bemühungen um Nachhaltigkeit auf den Farmen unterstreicht.
