Sun-Maid

Portrait

With more than 100 years of company history, Sun-Maid Growers, based in California, is a historic player in the US dried fruit market. The market leader for dried grapes was founded in 1912 as a cooperative. Today, it is still privately owned by the farming families who have been cultivating their grape and fruit plantations on the fertile soils of the Central Valley in the Golden State for generations.

The Californian premium fruits are true globetrotters - the cooperative sells over a third of its retail and industrial products around the globe and its own brand with the Sun Maid girl is also at home in over 60 countries around the world.

Sun-Maid operates the world's largest raisin and dried fruit factory and is committed to continuous improvement in all aspects of its business, alongside industry-leading technologies. Sustainability is therefore of central importance to the company. The responsible use of resources, the expansion of its organic production, the further training of its farmers and long-term and satisfied customer relationships are all part of Sun-Maid's self-image.
