Sunsweet

Portrait

Sunsweet can look back on more than 100 years of tradition in the cultivation and processing of plums. Founded in California in 1917, the company is a distribution cooperative. Among its 300 farmers are many family businesses that have been cultivating the craft of plum growing for generations. Today, Sunsweet is the world market leader for plum products.

The company's customers are both end consumers and the food industry. The cooperative enables direct contact between farmers and consumers under its own brand - with dried fruit and juices. And Sunsweet's prune raw materials are very popular with manufacturers of high-quality foods in over 45 countries worldwide.

One focus of the company's philosophy is the sustainability of its products. For Sunsweet, this includes energy-efficient and resource-conserving production facilities as well as valuing all employees and farmers as an essential part of the company's success.

Thanks to patented technologies, the cooperative is able to produce various prune raw materials of the highest quality standard for the industry. Sunsweet places a particular focus on researching further functionalities of the raw materials. This is because the company is keen to provide its customers with natural ingredients that contribute to a healthy and conscious diet.
