Cranberry seeds are a crisp trendsetter

These red seeds impart an exciting texture and pleasantly fruity flavor to numerous products, and are also rich in valuable constituents for health and wellbeing.

This is how it works: cranberry seeds, about the size of a chia seed, are obtained from the ripe berries of the cranberry plant. This is done by mechanically removing the cranberry pulp, followed by gentle drying.

No additives, preservatives or processing aids whatsoever are added during the entire process. As a result, cranberry seeds comply with all the provisions of the foodstuffs, medicines and cosmetics laws.

Unlimited applications

These small red seeds are optimally suitable as an enhancement in cereal products, mueslis, muesli bars and baked products. As a topping, cranberry seeds impart that special crunch to yoghurt and salads, and even salad dressings, spice mixtures and smoothies profit from this nutty strengthening. That’s why cranberry seeds are already being used in recipes for innumerable concepts at Bösch Boden Spies, such as chocolate bars, cereals, crispbread, grissini or bread rolls.

Cranberry seeds score sensory points; as well as a crunchy texture, they have an exceptionally stable color – 100% natural – and a finely fruity flavor. They are also highly process-tolerant.

Holistic contribution to a wholefood diet

A glance at the good constituents of cranberry seeds will put a smile on the faces of health-conscious consumers. These powerful seeds really do have what it takes.

They are an outstandingly good source of dietary fiber, the total amount they contain being 33%. Increasingly important for consumers is the subject of plant protein. Containing of around 20% plant protein, cranberry seeds serve this trend effortlessly. The amount of the omega-3-fatty acid alpha-linoleic acid they contain also deserves emphasis. Incidentally, the omega-3 to omega-6 ratio is 1:1.

And as if that wasn’t enough, cranberry seeds contain many secondary plant substances but no additives or preservatives. Moreover, cranberry seeds are free from GMOs and allergens. Altogether, these red power packs are ideal for those who eat a paleo, vegan or vegetarian diet.
