Niagro
Our Brazilian partner Niagro, founded in 1992 by Japan’s Nichirei Corporation, is a specialist in acerola products. The erstwhile pioneer is now a world leader in the processing and marketing of small acerola cherries. To source the ingredients, Niagro maintains close ties to 200 local farmers around the town of Petrolina, in the fertile coastal plain of the state of Pernambuco.
Over the past two decades, Niagro has made the formerly all-but-unknown fruit a household name in Europe and North America, and now sells acerola products to food producers all over the world.
